Enzymecrew supplies enzyme ingredients to detergent factories, contract manufacturers, private-label brands and chemical distributors. This page is for buyers who need enzymes for recurring production of laundry liquids, powders, capsules, concentrates and industrial laundry products, and who want a supplier that understands how the enzyme behaves inside a real plant batch.

Whether you are adding enzymes for the first time, replacing an existing enzyme source, or consolidating supply for several product lines, send us the product, quantity and destination and we will quote.

Why detergent plants add enzymes: cleaning power and cost

For a detergent plant, the enzyme decision is a cost decision as much as a cleaning decision.

  • Protease is the workhorse. In enzyme laundry liquids it is treated as the core enzyme: it takes on the protein soils customers notice most, such as sweat marks, blood and milk stains, and it helps a product clean at lower wash temperatures.
  • Surfactant is the big cost line. Detergent makers rely on high surfactant levels for cleaning power, and that squeezes margins. A pre-blended protease, lipase and amylase complex lets a plant trim part of the surfactant and other additives while holding cleaning performance, and it supports lower water and energy use in the wash.
  • Enzymes are added in very small proportions. Because the dose is small relative to the batch, the cost per tonne of finished product is driven as much by stability and handling losses as by the enzyme price itself.

Treat any reduction figure you are given as a starting hypothesis: confirm it in your own base formula and wash conditions before you change surfactant levels in production.

Single enzymes or a pre-blended complex

Option Best for What to check before you order
Protease alone Products sold on protein-stain removal (sweat, blood, dairy, egg) Matching the protease type to your product pH; oxidiser separation
Protease + lipase Workwear, kitchen textiles, body-oil soils Lipase tolerance of your surfactant and solvent package
Protease + lipase + amylase blend General laundry and food-service loads; plants that want one enzyme addition Storage stability of the blend in your base; addition temperature
Cellulase as an add-on Colour-care and fabric-appearance claims Fabric strength targets for high-turnover linen
Mannanase and specialty enzymes Premium stain claims on gum- and thickener-based food soils Whether the claim justifies the extra cost

How plants lose enzyme activity (and how to avoid it)

Most failed enzyme detergents do not fail in the lab; they fail in the mixing tank or on the warehouse shelf. The mistakes we see most often:

  1. Adding the enzyme while the batch is still hot. Add enzymes late, once the batch has cooled. High batch temperature during addition is the most common cause of lost activity.
  2. Letting the enzyme meet oxidisers. Keep enzymes away from direct contact with oxygen bleach such as sodium percarbonate or hydrogen peroxide. In powders this means separate, protected granules; in liquids it usually means no oxidiser in the same phase.
  3. Using the wrong protease for the product pH. Neutral and alkaline proteases exist for different product pH windows. Pick the type that matches your finished product, not the cheapest offer.
  4. Skipping the storage test. Check enzyme activity in your finished product over time at your warehouse temperature before you commit to a large production run.
  5. Changing surfactant levels before testing. If you plan to cut surfactant on the strength of the enzyme blend, change one variable at a time and wash-test each step.

Formats we quote

Liquid laundry detergents

Liquid formulas need attention to water content, pH, preservative system, surfactant balance, viscosity and storage. Enzyme compatibility should be checked early in development, not added at the end.

Powder laundry detergents

Powders need granulated, protected enzyme forms for dust control, even blending and separation from alkaline builders and bleach. Moisture control in the finished powder protects activity.

Capsules and concentrated formats

Highly concentrated products put more pressure on enzyme stability. Enzyme choice, carrier format and production sequence should be agreed before factory batching.

Industrial and institutional laundry products

Products for hotels, healthcare linen services and workwear laundries face heavier soils and fixed dosing equipment. We align the enzyme choice with wash programme, soil type and dosing practice.

How a quotation works

  1. Send your target. Product format, intended market, stain priorities, expected volume, destination and packaging preference.
  2. We review the enzyme fit. We suggest a single enzyme or blend direction for your base and process.
  3. We confirm supply and documents. Pack options, documentation for your quality team and repeat-supply planning.
  4. You evaluate. Your technical team tests the enzyme in your own base before a larger purchase.

Questions from purchasing teams

What information should we send for a quote?

Product format, target market, stain priorities, expected order size and reorder frequency, destination country, preferred packaging, and known constraints such as pH range, surfactant system, fragrance load or oxidisers.

Can you help if we are replacing an existing enzyme supplier?

Yes. Send the current enzyme type and how you use it; we will review the application, documentation needs and packaging before quoting a replacement.

Do you supply distributors and resellers?

Yes. Distributors supplying detergent formulators in their own market can request quotations for repeat supply.

Is this page for consumer buyers?

No. Enzymecrew supplies businesses only.
